The tech industry’s hottest new job doesn’t require coding experience.
The latest high-paying job in the tech industry is high-level communications and storytelling for companies. Senior roles pay between $200,000 and $775,000 per year at top firms like Anthropic. According to Indeed, a director of communications makes $107,000 on average in the U.S.
The roles span titles such as director of communications, chief communications officer, and head of new media. Day-to-day requirements include shaping how a company explains AI products to investors, regulators, customers, employees and the public. These positions reward people who can craft clear narratives about complex technology. They do not mandate traditional programming skills.
